We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and neighbouring markets (Poland, Croatia, Slovenia). This role is pivotal in driving sales growth and fostering strong distributor relationships for our animal nutrition products. The position will focus on hands-on sales efforts (80%) while also overseeing inventory and operational management (20%) in collaboration with support staff. The role will be responsible for managing and sourcing a small team.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Distributor Management (80%)
• Develop and execute sales strategies to maximize market share for yeasts, probiotics, and gut health solutions in livestock nutrition.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with distributors across Germany, Austria, Poland, Croatia, Switzerland.
• Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to expand market presence.
• Provide technical insights to distributors regarding product benefits and applications in livestock health.
• Regularly visit distributors to ensure alignment on goals and provide hands-on support.
• Monitor sales performance metrics and report progress to senior leadership.

Inventory & Operations Management (20%)
• Manage inventory levels to ensure timely product availability across the region.
• Collaborate with support staff in Frankfurt to streamline operations and logistics.
• Oversee order fulfilment processes to maintain customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership
• Hire and manage a team initially consisting of 1 to 2 sales professionals and 1 operational support staff.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and ensure continuous development.
• Set individual and team performance goals, and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to help them achieve those goals.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback.


Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agricultural Science, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Science, or related fields.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in B2B sales within the animal feed or livestock nutrition industry.
• Proven track record of building distributor networks and achieving sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of probiotics, yeasts, and gut health applications in livestock nutrition.
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to foster long-term partnerships.
• Leadership experience in managing small teams is a plus.
• Fluent in German and English; additional languages like Polish or Croatian are a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the region (up to 60%).
