About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead our service operations within a growing medical devices company. Based in Düsseldorf, this position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality service delivery to our customers while managing a small team of field service and logistics personnel.

The Service Manager will divide their time between field-based activities (approximately 50%) - including direct interaction with customers and hands-on support - and office-based responsibilities, such as team management, customer support coordination, and contract handling.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a small team (field service engineer and logistics)
- Oversee and contribute to the planning and execution of installations, maintenance, and service activities.
- Maintain regular contact with key customers through field visits, supporting high service standards and issue resolution.
- Handle customer inquiries and escalations, ensuring timely and effective responses.
- Negotiate service contracts and manage service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate logistics, spare parts availability, and scheduling of field activities.
- Monitor service performance metrics and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Technical Support, and Quality Assurance.

Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in a service leadership role within the medical devices, diagnostics, imaging, or related technical industry.
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on management style.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, preferably with responsibility for contract negotiation and account service.
- Technical background with the ability to support and coach field service engineers.
- Willingness to travel across Germany and occasionally other regions (up to 50% field-based).
- Fluent in German and English, both written and verbal.
- Degree in engineering, biomedical sciences, or a related field is preferred.
