About the Role

As Senior Clinical Operations Director, you will play a pivotal leadership role overseeing end-to-end clinical operations within a pharmaceutical and oncology-focused environment. You will be responsible for shaping strategy, directing clinical programmes, and ensuring operational excellence across studies, from planning and start-up through execution and delivery. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive efficiency, quality, and compliance in clinical operations, contributing directly to the successful development of oncology therapies and the advancement of patient care. This is a senior position with significant influence over clinical operations direction and organisational performance.

Key Skills and Expertise

  • Extensive experience in clinical operations leadership, ideally at Director or Senior Director level
  • Proven track record overseeing complex, global clinical trials within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong expertise in oncology clinical research and development
  • Thorough understanding of clinical operations processes, from study design and start-up to close-out
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements and GCP within clinical research
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement clinical operations strategies and frameworks
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing clinical operations teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across clinical, medical, regulatory, and commercial functions
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple programmes and priorities simultaneously
  • Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to operational delivery
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills at senior management level
